LASF President Barbara Serwin gathers sales-worthy items from her closet Photo provided

Planning to clean out your closets for those anticipated Christmas or Hanukkah gifts? Then let the Lafayette Arts & Science Foundation (LASF) make a suggestion...let us take your sale-worthy, gently used possessions - cameras, handbags, video games, consoles, etc.-and sell them on eBay. Every sale will translate to cash for our schools.
The process of donating your items to LASF is simple. Just gather your belongings and drop them off on Sunday, November 15th, from 11 AM-3PM at the Acalanes High School parking lot. LASF's partner in this event, the I Sold It on eBay store of Contra Costa, will eliminate the bother of photographing, pricing, packaging and shipping your donations. Additionally, donors will get a timely tax deduction and LASF will receive 70% of the net proceeds from each sale. It's a win, win situation for everyone involved!
According to Barbara Serwin, President of LASF, "The sale of gently used items on eBay is an opportunity for us to reach out to parents of school-aged children, as well as the community at large, and offer a unique way to support our schools without putting a dent in your check book. We hope the community seizes this opportunity to benefit our children and to make sure that they continue getting the high standard of education provided by our distinguished school districts."
Before you rush to clean out your overflowing closets, please visit LASF's website, www.lasf.org. or EbayforLASF@yahoo.com for a more detailed list of items to include for drop off, as well as goods that are deemed unacceptable. Items that are not accepted will be donated by LASF to Goodwill.
LASF urges everyone in the community to help in its drive to raise critical funding for all the Lafayette schools. With its objective to raise $1.5 million in the coming school year, the organization hopes to garner the support of all Lafayette residents who value the importance of maintaining the exemplary level of education in our city.
