The complexity of creating a vibrant community, or a cluster of communities, is often mired in the details, which are often painstakingly decided upon after hours of contemplation, discussion, negotiation and reflection by people who want to make a difference, in their own special way. Lamorinda residents will have an opportunity to choose which of these people will serve on the Lafayette, Moraga and Orinda city councils and the Moraga-Orinda Fire District governing board in the upcoming Nov. 8 election. The Lamorinda Weekly set out to have these candidates, whether they are in contested or uncontested races, answer questions about themselves and about the issues that matter most to residents in Lafayette, Moraga and Orinda, such as traffic congestion, storm drains, roads and infrastructure, downtown development, public safety, and finding new ways to foster these growing communities, while keeping Lamorinda's semi-rural vibe intact.
