Robert A. Depolo
Robert "Bob" Depolo, a 40-year Moraga resident, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 23 in Tracy. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Carol Depolo, his two children, Jim of San Diego, and Laura of Tracy, as well as 4 grandchildren: Dayna, Sean, Mark and Matt. A small family service was held at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Lafayette.
Born in Chicago, Bob spent most of his childhood growing up in San Francisco, going to St. Vincent de Paul grammar school, Sacred Heart High School, and USF. He then went to Korea for four years and joined the FBI in Washington D.C. upon returning to the U.S., where he was proud to be a special agent.
He met Carol when he moved back to California while working at Kaiser Steel. He always said asking her out was the best decision of his life. Bob proceeded to get his CPA from Golden Gate University in SF and spent the rest of his career in accounting. He was a partner with Hurdman and Cranston, Vice President at Wells Fargo, and CFO of Monterey Mechanical. Bob will be remembered as a good husband, father and provider for his family, a long time parishioner at St. Monica's in Moraga, his love of tennis, the Golden State Warriors, and his favorite, the San Francisco 49ers. Donations in memory of Bob can be made online to the wonderful people of hospice www.Aseracarefoundation.org.
