End is in Sight for Mt. Diablo Roadwork

The east end of Mount Diablo Boulevard in Lafayette will soon be smooth sailing for motorists who have been bumping over steel plates and avoiding countless orange cones.
The 30-inch diameter pipeline that will connect to the new Diablo Vista Pumping Plant is now completely installed under Mount Diablo Boulevard. The pipeline was pressure tested and connected to the water distribution system. The road is being patched currently, after which there will be a break in roadwork on the busy street.
Additional median island work will be completed in early 2017. It will require limited traffic control followed by final paving and striping.
