Charles H. Lupsha, a resident of Williamsburg Landing in Williamsburg, Virginia, and former Orinda resident, died on Dec. 29.
Born April 7, 1925, he was the son of Frank X. Lupsha and Sylvia Lupsha of Rockville Center, New York. After graduation from high school in Rockville Center, Lupsha joined the U.S. Navy and served three years, participating in D-Day Normandy invasion followed by another year in the Pacific Theater of war.
After being honorably discharged Lupsha graduated from Oklahoma A&M in 1950. In July 1949 he married Jo Turner of Ringling, Oklahoma. Mr. Lupsha's career in sales and marketing with Chevron Chemical resulted in numerous communities in this country to be called home. Retiring in 1985 to Orinda, he was active in tennis and golf at the Contra Costa Country Club.
Mr. Lupsha and his wife moved to Williamsburg in 2003. He is survived by his wife of Jo of 66 years, and his five sons, eight grandchildren and one great- grandchild. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Church of Santa Maria in Orinda.
