On Sept, 7, MOL Flag Football celebrated its 50th Anniversary at Joaquin Moraga Middle School. What started out half a century ago as a simple idea for about a 70 local kids to play flag football together in the Fall, has grown into one of the country's largest not-for-profit, community-run, flag football programs with nearly 700 players this season. To help kick off the 50th season, MOL invited the League's original organizers, coaches, community leaders, players and key historic figures to come back and perform the coin toss for each of Saturday's games as well as join in activities with current players and coaches. MOL was honored that the League's founders (or their family's representatives) were all present for the celebration.
