Two Campolindo High School football players signed National Letters of Intent to continue their football careers at the collegiate level. Quarterback Grant Harper signed with UC Davis and Linebacker Mason Mastrov signed with Southern Methodist University (SMU).
Harper shined for the Cougars, finishing 22-6 as a starter while racking up 6,096 career yards and finished his Campo career with the school's second most all time touchdown passes (62). Harper was a First Team All-League quarterback both his junior and senior seasons. He earned Third Team QB honors from All Bay Area Preps and Honorable Mention QB honors on the San Francisco Chronicle All-Metro team.
"Signing day was an awesome day and something I had been looking forward to for a long time," Harper said. "The fact that I got to do it in Coach Macy's room with all my teammates there was a great ending to my career at Campo."
Mastrov dominated the defensive side of the ball for Campo this year being named the league's Defensive Player of the Year. Among numerous awards, Mastrov was named an All Bay Area Preps First Team Linebacker. He also made the San Francisco Chronicle's All-Metro team as a Second Team Linebacker. In his career Mastrov had 16 sacks in just 13 games. Mastrov was also a First Team All-League Linebacker as a junior.
Over the past seven seasons, Campo has sent 22 players on to play college football. Harper and Mastrov will join five former Campo players currently in the college ranks for 2020 - John Torchio (Wisconsin), Ryan Regan (Cal), Lucas Allen (Cal), Logan MacDonald (Montana State), and Luke Campo (Amherst).
