Under-15 Lamorinda United 93 Girls Win Santa Barbara Cup
Submitted by Diane Culyer

Lamorinda United '93 girls soccer team won four straight games to capture first place in the Santa Barbara Summer Cup August 23 & 24. They started strongly, beating Simi Valley 6-0. This was followed by a tough, 1-0 win over the Porterville Ice. They again dominated in the semi-final, sending Diablo FC off 4-0. The championship game against NVSC Fusion was very tense, with the LMSC girls winning 2-1. Overall, the team scored 13 and only allowed 1. Earlier this summer, the U15's were finalist at the California Cup '08 hosted by San Juan soccer club in Sacramento. The team went 3-1-1 and allowed only 2 goals against in 5 games. Hard work, commitment and dedicated training by coach Jasko this summer has prepared the team to launch into the Fall GSSL league season starting September 6th.
