| It started with a conflict between local BMX riders, police and tearing up the Las Trampas creek bed. Jonathan "Ace" Katayanagi, popular Recreation Coordinator, was at work at the RINK and heard many complaints from the kids just looking for a place to ride.
Pictured left, BMX riders Paul Jackson and Matt Atwood, were "Absolutely key in getting the park. They have been to every meeting," said Katayanagi. "They represented the voice of the youth. I can really count on them." The project recently got the green light from the City Council to build a fenced-in dirt track with youth made jumps on a 1-acre site behind the baseball field at the Community Park.
