On the beautiful afternoon of Saturday, May 9, the Moraga Community Faire drew crowds to the Rheem Center. "The Faire was a great success," said Ellen Beans, co-organizer of the event. "More than 2500 people of all ages came and lingered, even past the official 4 p.m. ending time." Beans says the exhibitors felt the event was very worthwhile; local vendors reported good sales and non-profits recorded many potential new members. All of the attractions were well attended, including the new sidewalk chalk drawing contest that had numerous entries in all categories from K to 12 grade. The staff of your friendly neighborhood newspaper enjoyed making tissue paper flowers with kids and meeting everyone who stopped by to share ideas or just say "Hi!"
