Lafayette resident, Justin Batcheller, was awarded the 2009 Diablo Valley Japanese American Citizens League Chapter Scholarship for $1,000. The scholarship recognizes recent high school graduates planning to enter a college or university in fall 2009, and who have demonstrated a high level of scholastic performance, leadership, and involvement in school and community activities. Justin graduated from Campolindo High School, and will enter Brown University as a freshman this fall.
