Lamorinda Cougars Win Championship

The Lamorinda Cougars Under 12 baseball team competed in the Cooperstown Dreams Park Week Two Championship on June 18th at Little Majors Stadium in Cooperstown, New York. The #2 Cougars defeated the #4 Chiefs Baseball of Calhoun, Georgia 7-4. The Chiefs came out of the dugout on fire in the first inning recording a 2-0 lead on the first three pitches of the game. However, the Cougars battled back and scored five runs in the third inning, extending their lead to 7-4. Lamorinda had three players knock one out of the park, Joe DeMers, Daniel Slominski and Lucas Herbert. Herbert had two homers, one in the second inning and another in the third. Head coach Rick Rider has also coached his team to a Travel Ball Select (TBS) National Championship and United States Specialty Sport Assocation (USSSA) Elite World Series Championship in 2008.
