| | | | | | Local Orinda resident Julie Luckenbach is not only a mom but a gold medal winning karate student. She recently competed in the International Karate Federation Karate Championships in Sacramento, CA and won three gold medals for Kata (forms), Kobudo (weapons) and Kumite (sparring). Luckenbach also was awarded the Most Outstanding Female Award. The Green Belt held her own against tough competition, often against Black Belts, in most of her divisions. The competition included athletes from Hawaii, California and Seattle ranging in ages from four to 74.
