"The Miner Road project is going very well. We are pleased to say that we are ahead of schedule," stated Nora Harlow, the East Bay Municipal Utility District (EBMUD) Community Affairs liaison, in her report to Orinda's City Council in early July. Harlow's words were affirmed last week when Miner Road was re-opened to traffic a full week ahead of schedule. "There will be finish and clean-up work happening for the next few weeks. This work will involve lane closures only, no more road closures or detours," states Harlow. This portion of the EBMUD Miner Road project runs form Oak Arbor Road to Lombardy Lane and is scheduled for completion by August 21st.
The Central Costa County Sanitary District will be doing minor repairs on Miner Road, between Camino Pablo to Oak Arbor Road, this week and working on the sewer main beginning the week of July 27 for two weeks. "If all goes well, they expect to finish by August 7th," states Harlow. There will be single-lane closures with traffic controls in place, and no road closures.
