The Lafayette Baseball Association Legends 12-year-olds traveled to Twin Creeks in Santa Clara on October 11 to battle the Castro Valley Headfirst Gamers for the Fall Ball State Championships. The Legends found themselves down 2-1 in the bottom of the sixth inning. Center fielder Tommy Nimura got on base with a two-strike single, beating the throw from short stop. Short stop Max Flower followed with a hit to center field. The Gamers intentionally walked third baseman Alex Vick to load the bases for Legend's pitcher Jake Berry. Berry's hit brought home Nimura to tie the game. Flower was tagged out at home. Catcher Nicky Fafoutis continued the Legend's momentum by hitting another shot to centerfield, once again loading the bases. Grant Young then bunted on the first pitch to give the Legends the lead and ultimately the victory.
