Drunk in Public, 11/04/09 Orinda's busy middle aged tippler was found drunk and pounding on the door of a Moraga Way relative. She could barely stand up while chatting with the police officer. Unfortunately she was already on probation and has a "do not consume" clause as a condition of her probation. She was evaluated and found to be a danger to herself and other citizens in the area. Cops arrested her and took her to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Back in the saddle, 11/05/09 At 8:30 in the morning the tippler was back, same house, again intoxicated, again in violation of her probation. Can you say, "revolving door?" She was once again arrested and taken back to the Martinez Detention Facility.
Phantom Toll Booth Theft, 11/03/09 The Theater Square Parking toll booth was robbed sometime between 8:00 p.m. on 11/02/09 and 6:55 a.m. on 11/03/09. The mastermind pried open a floor safe and stole $600 in currency. The victim is Cushman Wakefield Properties which probably has insurance covering this type of incident; too bad they don't have insurance that covers a commercial real estate meltdown.
Possession of marijuana for sale 10/30/09 A routine traffic stop for expired registration occurred at Camino Pablo near Camino Sobrante just before 8:00 in the morning. Officers didn't need a police dog to sniff out the pervasive smell of marijuana in the vehicle. Turns out there were eight baggies of marijuana, $85 in cash and a digital scale in the car. They say breakfast is the most important meal of the day, but I don't think this counts.
