According to the Hospice of the East Bay, "The Tree of Lights is a way for families to celebrate and memorialize the lives of their friends and loved ones." Moraga Mayor David Trotter spoke with thanksgiving for having Hospice of the East Bay as part of the community and recognized the community being supportive of Hospice services. Girl Scouts brought homemade cookies and hot chocolate for the brisk night that was enjoyed by all. Local boy scouts built a safe bonfire that lit the faces of those huddled around it as friends and families of loved ones were remembered and the Moraga Community Choir sang a capella.
