When officers observed the subject fall over on the sidewalk and begin to walk down the middle of the road, they determined he was unable to care for himself and ordered him to stop. Although the subject tried to resist the handcuffs, he was transported to the Martinez Detention Facility where he was booked for resisting arrest and public intoxication.
Whiskey, Please, 1/17/10 Safeway employees observed two juvenile males steal a bottle of liquor. One of the clever subjects placed the bottle under his sweater before they left the store and sped away in a waiting vehicle. An alert employee captured the license plate number and officers made contact with the owner. The owner said his daughter had been driving the vehicle and the daughter later identified the subjects. Safeway is requesting prosecution in this case. Due to the video surveillance tape, there's not much doubt that they'll be successful. Be warned - it's not a good idea to steal from Safeway.
In Through the Dog Door, 1/18/10 A Boyer Circle resident called police to report his home had been burglarized. Police determined that an unsecured dog door was the point of entry and exit as all other doors were locked and secured. The scene was processed for fingerprints and the results were negative. There are no leads at this time, but it's possible that the burglar is relatively small and hairy and likes to get down on all fours.
