On January 27th the Stanley Middle School Music Department played its 14th annual Mayor's Concert honoring the mayor and city officials in Lafayette. The Symphonic Band, under the direction of Bob Athayde, featured a special guest performer. Upon reading in the Lamorinda Weekly that Mayor Brandt Andersson sings in his church choir, Athayde invited him to sing in the concert. Accompanied by Athayde on the piano the mayor, who is reportedly a big fan of Nat King Cole, sang a very special rendition of Nat King Cole's "Mona Lisa."
