Local karate kids returned home after competing amongst the very best with six gold medals, a silver medal and three bronze medals. The West Coast Karate Championships were held in Yuba City on Sunday, February 21st. This was an all day event with competition in Kata (Forms), Kobudo (weapons) and Kumite (sparring). Karate & Fitness Place USA (KFPUSA) sent four students: Richard Kim (3 Gold Medals), Michael Doucet (3 Gold Medals), Jalen Henderson (1 Silver, 1 Bronze), and Haze Mach (2 Bronze Medals).

KFPUSA students Richard Kim (12-years old) and Haze Mach (14-years old) will be training hard this year for the upcoming USA National Karate Federation National Championships to be held this summer in Greenville, South Carolina, and a chance to try out for the USA Jr. World Karate Team.
