Stolen car, 3/17/10 A brown 2005 Ford F350 truck was taken sometime during the night from in front of an Ivy Drive residence. The vehicle was locked and the alarm was set. Apparently thieves are expanding their range away from the freeway.
Purse stolen, 3/14/10 A Moraga woman who works at the Orinda Bev Mo left her purse inside the employee break room on top of a table. She later came back to the break room - presumably for a break and noticed that several of her bank cards were missing. Oddly enough that same day - she noticed a white male in the break room who was not an employee. Could there be a link?
Frequent flyer returns, 3/1/10 Orinda police were called to a Moraga Way residence to check on an inebriated middle-aged woman. Her 82-year-old father saw her swallow some pills. Moraga Orinda Fire Department responded. Our usual suspect claimed she only took her recommended prescriptions. She was singing and yelling at the time. Due to her .22 blood alcohol level and slurred speech she was charged with being drunk in public. While at the Orinda police department, she made quite an impression upon city administrative staff who share the building.
Car purchase scam, 3/04/10 A lovely Mercedes Benz was offered for sale by a Scenic Drive resident. An unknown suspect purchased the vehicle by presenting a fraudulent check for $25,000 - even though the purchase price was $23,000. To settle up, the legal owner gave him a check for $2,000 along with $1,000 cash. Bummer, now the crook has the car and cash. Be on the lookout for a 2-door 2005 SLK Mercedes with license plate SLVARRO. Seller beware.
