Troy Westernoff, a 14 year old eighth grader at Joaquin Moraga Intermediate Middle School began studying Karate at the age of four. He earned his black belt at the age of 13. His father, Thomas Westernoff, began training when he was five years old and earned his black belt when he was 14 years old. While both appear to have reached to highest level within the sport, there are varying degrees of black belts. Both continue to progress within the sport. As the family can attest: the learning never stops.
