Stanley Middle School seventh graders Spencer Wharton and Daniel Erenstein got to be rabbit rock stars for a day as they took turns in a fluffy bunny costume mingling with a bevy of little ones in attendance at the annual Bunny Brunch at the Lafayette Community Center. The dynamic duo made their way around the room giving hugs, high fives and posing for pictures with appreciative fans.
Hosted by the Lafayette Community Center Foundation, this event benefits the aging Community Center on St. Mary's Road. Grown-up volunteers from the Foundation were flipping pancakes and serving breakfast to approximately 130 people. Volunteer staffers with pink and white fuzzy bunny ears set the tone for a full morning of hare-centric family fun.
Self-described juggling genius Daniel DaVinci entertained the kids post-pancakes and pre-egg hunt. He had parents laughing at his jokes, "I'm the world's greatest juggler (pause) in this price range." While performing six juggling feats at once, he said, "...and for you science buffs - I'll convert oxygen to carbon dioxide at the same time."
