Bob Wilson, the Athletic Director for Campolindo High School, has been honored by the California Coaches Association (CCA) as the California Boys' Athletic Director of the Year for 2010. Wilson will be honored at a banquet in Fresno on Friday, June 19th.
Wilson said of his award: "I am very honored to be recognized by my peers in the state. Winning an award like this is not an individual effort. We could not have achieved the excellence here at Campolindo without the support of the administration, parents/boosters, coaches, and our outstanding student athletes. I feel this award reflects on the hard work done by all the stakeholders in the community. I am just the lucky one to be overseeing this outstanding program."
Campolindo wrestling coach Bob McLaughlin, received the California Coaches Association Wrestling Coach of the Year Award for 2010. Coach McLaughlin will also be honored for this award at the CCA Coach of the Year/Hall of Fame Banquet on June 19.
McLaughlin said, "Honestly, this whole thing has given me great sense of inner pride and reflection. It truly is an honor to be recognized in this manner by your peers. I would not be the man I am today if it were not for this sport and what it taught me along the way. All I have ever tried to do in coaching is teach the kids what I have learned about this sport and how it mirrors life's' experience. The feeling you get when your hand is raised after a victory and the feeling you get after you shake the hand of the guy that just beat you. Nothing is learned from victory; everything is learned from a loss and what you do after it. I feel very fortunate that I have been able to touch so many lives in a positive manner over the past 16 seasons and I am sure it will get quite emotional at the banquet on the 19th." C.Graveson
