On April 28th the Moraga Town Council rejected a proposal to allow off-leash dogs in an area of the Moraga Commons Park often referred to as the “back 40;” the Council decided to table the issue indefinitely, and Rancho Laguna Park will remain open to off-leash dogs during designated morning and evening hours. The Council plans to investigate the possibility of placing the issue on the November ballot so Moraga’s voters can decide the dogs’ fate, because some members of the Council are concerned that not all of the opinions of residents have been expressed at that body’s public sessions.
