Lafayette Police Blotter

Don't Let Your Guests Get Too Comfortable, 3/29/10 On March 29, a Whitten Lane resident discovered some jewelry had been removed from her house during the period March 15-March 29. Although the resident did not see or hear anyone take her jewelry, she believes a known party and her boyfriend who had been allowed to stay in the victim's home during that period took the items.

What is Missing? 4/11/10 An unknown suspect entered the parking garage at the Lafayette Park Hotel and took unknown items from the storage area inside the stairwell. Two alert hotel employees witnessed the suspect leaving the storage area with an unknown object before fleeing in a black Ford Explorer with no license plate. Police will continue to blaze a hot trail for the unknown suspect carrying an unknown object in an unknown vehicle.
A Pistol, a Pipe and a Couple of Knives, 4/13/10 A presumably routine traffic stop near Deer Hill Road at 24 led to a few unusual discoveries. To begin with, the driver shared that he was on probation in Napa County and happened to have a "Beretta style" black and chrome starter pistol under the center console of his truck. A search of the vehicle led to the discovery of a "meth pipe" and two large kitchen knives. The driver was arrested and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility for booking. What a loss to the Lafayette community.

A Smashing Departure, 4/15/10 A Timothy Lane resident parked and locked his vehicle in the driveway and mistakenly assumed it would be fine when he returned from school that day. The owner returned to find the left rear "wing" window has been smashed with an unknown object and the car stereo had been stolen. The thief also broke the top off of the center console - perhaps the little button that opens the console was a bit tricky for him? The total loss is estimated at $300.
