On Saturday May 1st, the Orinda Farmers' Market opens for the 2010 season. Located on Orinda Way in Orinda Village, California farmers bring their tasty and delectable produce to the market for you to enjoy the freshest fruits and vegetables available. Market hours are 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., May 1- November 20. Enjoy live music while you shop. In addition to the bounty from our farmers, you'll find cage-free eggs by Great valley Poultry, local honey from Steve's Bees and organic brown rice from Massa Organics. Make sure to experience fresh-made pastries with seasonal fruit and cupcakes by local pastry chef Anastasia of Indie Cakes. Join us on May 1st for a frittata cooking demonstration by guest chef Robert Brower, an Italian-American home cook who has taught Italian cooking in the Bay Area for 20 years. Brower is also a culinary historian and a contributing author to the Oxford Encyclopedia of Food and Drink in America.
Contra Costa Certified Farmers' Market (CCCFM) festivities include live music, kids' activities, artisan vendors and cooking demonstrations. CCCFM is extending a hand of welcome to local community groups and non-profits to participate at the markets. Enter the monthly raffle when you shop, for a chance to win a cool red shopping cart and "Market Bucks" (our version of a gift card).
