For Orinda's 25th Anniversary Poetry Contest
Calling young poets and writers. Here is your chance to have your words preserved in perpetuity for future Orindans to one day uncover. Orinda's City Council is sponsoring a poetry contest as part of the celebration of the 25th anniversary of the incorporation of the City. Students currently in kindergarten through 12th grades are encouraged to submit a poem on the theme What it means to be an Orindan. A winning poem from each of four age categories will recognized by the City Council and included in an anniversary time capsule to be buried near City Hall. A.Firth
Who? Students currently in kindergarten through 12th grades. Contest categories: K thru 2nd; 3rd thru 5th; 6th thru 8th; and 9th thru 12th.
What? A poem, one page or less in length, double-spaced, on the theme-What it means to be an Orindan.
Deadline? Poems must be submitted by June 18th, 2010 to the City Clerk in City Hall at 22 Orinda Way or by email to MOlsen@cityoforinda.org.
