Five players from the Lamorinda Lightning Lacrosse Club played in the U.S. Lacrosse National Tournament held near Cincinnati, Ohio, June 11- 13. Matt Blair, Nathan Brickman, Ryan Doyle, Vinny Gladden and Adrian Jeffries were among 44 players selected by the Northern California Junior Lacrosse Association to play in the U13 national tournament. Boys were nominated from 24 different Northern California clubs to participate in the try-outs to make the two "NorCal" teams which attended the tournament. The boys played against All-Star teams from around the country. While the West Coast boys learned something about Midwest humidity, the East Coast boys learned that lacrosse is a rapidly growing sport throughout California, where the level of play will soon reach parity.
The Lamorinda Lightning Lacrosse Club supports approximately 300 local boys and girls who play the sport every spring at the U9, U11, U13 and U15 levels.
