| Published August 4th, 2010 | Roadworks Underway on Moraga Way and La Espiral | By Andrea A. Firth | | | Repavement of Moraga Way is underway again, but it's a bit less dusty this time around. Construction began the week of July 26th on the segment starting at Camino South and will extend through downtown to Bryant Way and up to the ramp for Highway 24. Funded by grants, the Moraga Way work will be conducted between 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. and will necessitate road closures to replace failing pavement, install new drainage, widen pedestrian areas, and install sidewalk ramps. Various phases of the project will continue through October of this year.
The City has also started construction on La Espiral Road in the vicinity of #50. The street will be closed between 7:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. to repair a slide that has affected the downhill edge. Construction will be limited to weekdays and the road will be re-opened at night and on the weekends. This project has been funded through the City's Capital Improvement Plan budget.
