| Now in its fifth year, locals can once again enjoy a trio of Friday evenings at Plaza Park. Opening this year's event was Stagefrite, the high energy rock and roll party band on lucky Friday the thirteenth.
Pacific Coast Band, which is based in Orinda, performs acoustic, pop and rock music on August 20. Total Eclipse wraps up the summer with the best hits of the 70's and 80's on August 27.
New this year, look for a local authors book fair at the August 20 show, featuring children's book authors from Ying Compestine to Idris Evans and cook books from the Rotary and LASF. Eight to ten local authors will "sell 'em and sign 'em," said Polly Bernson, owner/publisher of Diablo Rapid Print, referring to autographed books. She's "tickled to death" at the opportunity.
Also new this year - stars from Town Hall Kids Theatre will perform songs from the summer youth production, "Jungle Book," during the intermission. "It'll be short and sweet," said Clive Worsley, Artistic Director, "They're rarin' to go."
