Moraga Police Blotter

Littering, 8/08/10 Moraga officers responded to a call on Ascot Drive of a large amount of bathroom tissue left on the sidewalk. The anonymous caller who phoned in the incident said the tissue was removed from a car parked at the curb and tossed on the sidewalk. Earlier the car was allegedly covered with the tissue. Is this as bad as it gets in Moraga?

Toilet papering, 8/07/10 Cops came to a Whiting Court home on a report of toilet paper vandalism. Sometime between midnight and 8:30 a.m. an unknown person toilet papered her house and uprooted six plants and damaged three pots in the front yard. Estimated damage $700. No suspects at this time. Could it be the work of the Ascot Drive TP-er? Or a disgruntled student?

D.U.I., 8/07/10 A black truck rolled through a stop sign on Alta Mesa near Moraga Road. Officers observed objective signs of alcohol intoxication when the driver was pulled over near the Commons. The 18-year-old driver had a blood alcohol content of .13, clearly more than the legal limit. How could an 18-year-old be drinking, if the drinking age is 21?

Grand Theft, 8/10/10 A Danefield Place resident reported to Moraga police that after having his carpets replaced, jewelry was missing from the home. The homeowner suspects the carpet installers. The jewelry was last seen on July 10 and has an appraised value of approximately $17,500. The incident is under investigation.
