Orinda Police Blotter

Drunk in Public, 8/17/10 After laying low for a while, Orinda's most frequently charged resident is back in the news. The fifty-four year old woman was yelling and refusing to leave Nation's around lunchtime. After firmly responding to cops she planned on staying in the burger joint, and displaying obvious signs of intoxication, she was taken to the Martinez Detention Facility for booking.

Drunk driving, 8/13/10 A Lombardy Lane resident had just returned from vacation when she found a driver suspected of driving under the influence had crashed into a utility pole, tree and light fixture at her home. There was approximately $2500 worth of damage to her property, and significant damage to the P G & E pole.

D.U.I., 8/13/10 A car was pulled over on Camino Pablo near Monte Vista for speeding - 45 m.p.h. in a 30 m.p.h. zone. When the driver was brought back to the station his blood alcohol content was .08, just enough to get in trouble.

Petty theft, 8/11/10 A twenty-five year old woman was seen putting several items into a black bag and leaving Safeway without paying. She didn't get too far - caught at Citibank with items. She claimed she purchased the items, but threw away the receipt. Police searched for the receipt but couldn't find it. The suspect could barely stand and smelled of vanilla, her beverage of choice.
