Lafayette Police Blotter
Drunk in Public, 8/8/10 An Orinda woman was arrested at CVS on Mt. Diablo Boulevard for being Drunk in Public. The woman was using foul language and was scaring customers so CVS employees asked her to leave. The woman locked herself inside the restroom and refused to come out. Lafayette Police were summoned to remove her from the premises.

That's Not Your Gas Money, 8/15/10 A recent Acalanes graduate walked by Ferrari Foods and noticed a tip jar sitting near the front door. This made him realize that he needed gas money so he took five $1 bills from the tip jar and fled. The juvenile was observed driving away in a 1998 Mercedes SL500 and was apprehended. The Dollar Bandit was given a probation citation and released to his father. If he needs cash that badly, perhaps he should sell the Benz and buy a bike.

School Vandals, 8/18/10 Unknown white male juveniles damaged the Burton Valley Elementary School sign as well as two lights on the property; total damage, about $1000. They clearly need to revisit the six pillars of the Character Counts! model: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship.

Bike Vandals, 8/22/10 A minor locked his FitBike near the Great Wall restaurant and returned to find four Stanley 8th graders near his bike. When the bike owner confronted them, he discovered they'd put superglue on the brakes, chain and handlebar stem. It's not known if they were the same kids that thought it would be cool to trash a school.
