The Cadette Girl Scouts of Moraga Troop 30734 (7th grade) have been working hard for the last two months planning their first-ever Troop Garage Sale to be held in late March. As Cadettes, the girls have assumed full responsibility for the sale, from the early planning stages to scheduling, advertising, inventory and pricing; they even decided to hold a bake-sale at the same time (cupcakes, cookies, brownies, etc.) The troop hopes to raise money to offset the cost of some of their activities as they work towards earning their Silver Award, but they also voted to donate 15% of the proceeds to the World Wildlife Fund. The World Wildlife Fund is an organization that does many things, such as protecting endangered species, educating communities, working with government, and protecting ecosystems. Just as Girl Scouts are working to improve the social aspects of our planet, the World Wildlife Fund is trying to improve our environmental world. Any items that remain unsold at the end of the day will be delivered to the Goodwill in Moraga. Items to be sold at the garage sale include books, toys, and small appliances (no clothing). You never know what treasures you might find at Troop 30734's Garage Sale, which will run from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, at 881 Camino Ricardo in Moraga.
