Drivers beware of a slight diversion along Happy Valley Road, near Highway 24 that accommodates earthquake retrofit work. Because of the likelihood of a major earthquake around the Bay Area, vulnerable portions of the transit system are being upgraded to improve safety and to ensure the return to operation shortly after a major earthquake.
