7:00 a.m Registration for Roadrunners' Fun Run & Haley's

Run For A Reason



7:30 - 10 a.m. The Roadrunners' Pancake Breakfast In the park/Community Center Enjoy a wonderful breakfast prepared by the Orinda Roadrunners while listening to a variety of music.



7:55 a.m. Flag-raising Ceremony at the Flagpole in front of Community Center



8 a.m. The Roadrunners' Fun Run and Haley's Run for a Reason front of Community Center Choose between a 2-mile run/walk or a 5-mile run through scenic parts of Orinda and EBMUD watershed. There is no fee for the Fun Run. To support Haley's Run for a Reason, which benefits research for SUDC (Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood), a small donation is requested. 9 a.m. Friends of the Orinda Library Book Sale in the Library Breezeway 10 a.m. Parade Begins/ Food Booths Open in Park Over 75 entries including several musical groups, led by a bagpiper and several members of Orinda's first City Council, will leave the BART station parking lot and travel to the Orinda Crossroads area (by the Orinda Theatre) before crossing under Highway 24 to the Village area. The parade will travel down Orinda Way to the viewing stand in front of the Community Center before ending at the Community Center Park.

Summer Concerts in the Park

The Tuesday night Summer Concert series, sponsored by the Orinda Community Center Auxiliary, gets underway on June 21st and runs through July. Pack a picnic dinner and join your friends and neighbors at the Community Park from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. for some food, fun, and music.

Arts in Bloom in the Community Park

Tuesday, July 19th starting at 5:00 p.m.

The Orinda Arts Council is hosting an evening of visual and performing arts for the community. Starting at 5 p.m., there will be art exhibits and sales, a silent auction, arts & crafts activities for kids, and a hot dog and ice cream concession stand provided by Loard's. At 6:30 p.m., the Concert-in-the-Park featured performers will be the 2011 Orinda Idol Finalists

Opera in the Park

Sunday, July 31st at 4:00 p.m. Orinda Community Park

The Rotary Club of Orinda hosts a concert of opera performed the Bay Area's best. Children are welcome. Food, soft drinks, wine, and beer will be available.

Summer at the Library

June 29: Picasso: Masterpieces from the Museum National Picasso.

Lecture with slides led by experienced fine art docent on the extraordinary exhibition at the de Young museum of more than 100 masterpieces by Spanish artist Pablo Picasso. 2:00 p.m.



July 6: The George Cole Quintet will perform at the Moraga Library, Wednesday, July 6, from 7-9 pm. Cole's excellent guitar work and his band's enticing instrumental and vocal harmonies make them a must-see for any fan of vintage jazz. The concert is free but preregistration is encouraged as seating is limited. Sustainable Lafayette Summer Film Series

June 28 and continuing every other Tuesday evening - the from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. in the Community Hall of the Lafayette Library and Learning Center. The First film with be, "The Economics of Happiness" for a suggested $5 donation. This film will also be shown on July 12 and July 26.
