Divers Compete in Regional Event

Lamorinda divers traveled to Beaverton to compete in the Spring Regionals. The weekend competition included divers from western states. The top 12 divers receive medals and the top six qualify for the Western Nationals.
Brenna Cetrone, 12 years old from Orinda, medaled on both 1m and 3m springboards. She qualified for West Nationals, to take place in Oklahoma City, April 13-15, by placing 6th on 3m springboard, out of 26 competitors. She scored 220.95 points. In the 1m contest, Brenna scored 202.00 points which placed her 10th out of 28 divers.
Asher Lichtig, of Lafayette, medaled on 3m. He placed 11th among 26 divers with a score of 401.35. Lichtig received early acceptance to attend Amherst College next fall, where he will be coached by ex-Olympian, Mary Ellen Clark.
Moraga's Morgan Matranga placed 13th on both 1m and 3m springboards.
Miranda Gold, Lafayette, dove in her first Regionals. Having only a couple years of experience, Miranda placed a respectable 20th on 3m and 21st on 1m.
