Saint Mary's men's rugby hosted Utah in the Men's National Collegiate Division 1 quarterfinals. The Gaels played a physical game against the Utes on May 5 and pulled out a 25-15 win.
Scoring in the first five minutes, the Gaels took control early. Utah answered back to pull within two, 5-3. Saint Mary's recovered the momentum and held on to earn a 15-3 lead at halftime. Despite a late effort by the Utes, the Gaels maintained control and recorded the win.
Saint Mary's hosts Arkansas State in the semifinals on Saturday, May 12 at 1:00 p.m.
