The Orinda Desperados and the Lamorinda Baseball Academy (LBA) Generals have each been selected to play in the Cooperstown Dreams Park and American Youth Baseball Hall of Fame Invitational Tournament during the week of June 16-22 in the home of baseball: Cooperstown, New York.
"The point of the trip is not necessarily to do everything you can to win every game, but to offer the players and their families an once-in-a-lifetime experience with each other. Success on the field is important, but the experience these boys will have together will be with them forever," said Coach Steve Cassriel.
The two teams will compete against over 100 other 12U teams from throughout the country.
The Orinda Desperados are following in the tradition established last year by the Orinda Titans. The players on this team are all from Orinda. Players on the LBA are from Lafayette, Moraga, Pleasant Hill, and Piedmont.
"The Cooperstown trip is the finale of our program's youth-level experience. We can think of no better way to cap off their 12 year-old baseball year than with a trip like this," said coach and LBA founder Adam Hendersen
