Not licensed, 2/26/13 A 58-year-old male was arrested at 1:30 a.m. on a $26,000 southern California warrant. The charge was driving without a license. He was arrested and booked into Martinez Detention Facility.

Bag? Boy! 2/27/13 A 52-year-old man was charged with commercial burglary after collecting items from Orinda Safeway in a hand basket, bypassing the cashiers, getting a plastic bag to contain his "shopping" and leaving the store. Seems he had even detoured into the restroom to check his wallet for money. Finding none, he still proceeded to shop.

Legally "Gone" 3/2/13 Orinda police spotted a 21-year-old woman running a red light and then making a right turn on a red where prohibited. The officer who stopped her noticed her red, watery eyes and slurred speech. She underwent field sobriety tests and submitted to a preliminary alcohol screening. She was arrested for driving under the influence, transported to Orinda police department and released.

A thief in the day, 3/5/13 A 69-year-old male was arrested at his Orinda home on an outstanding warrant for theft. Bail is set at $5,000; he was cited and released at the scene.
