The UMass Lowell Pioneers athletics department made the jump from NCAA DII to DI this year, and the volleyball team is one of the first teams to debut in the D1 era.
Former Campolindo Cougar Anisa Smith helped to lead Campolindo to a State Championship in 2010. Now, the current junior middle hitter leads the Pioneers during this tough transition year.
Smith had nine kills and three blocks against Sacred Heart University. She currently leads the team in attack by kill percentage, averaging 2.57 per set.
