LMSC's U17 Girls' team, United 98, breezed through their preliminary rounds, winning all three games and allowing only one goal. They posted wins against Albion OC White 1-0, Central California Soccer Alliance 2-0 and Santa Clara Sporting Green 3-1. In the semifinal, the girls pulled out a 2-1 win over the Galaxy Blues, sending them to the finals to take on the host team, Davis Legacy 99 Red - ranked No. 12 in the country. Stanford commits Caroline Clark (Acalanes) - the tournament's top scorer - and forward Cecilia Gee (Miramonte) scored first half goals, staking the girls a 2-0 lead. It was all the scoring they needed, as they held Davis scoreless. It was the second straight year United 98 took the championship in the tournament's top division.
