Consider Alternative Transportation to LSC Meet
By Peggy Spear
The fifth annual Lafayette Swim Conference Championship Meet will be hosted at Acalanes High School on July 30 and 31. This popular event is the culmination of the 2016 swim season for many local children, ranging in age from 4 to 18.
However, parking won't be as pretty as some of the swims because of the construction caused by solar installations in the Acalanes High School parking lot. The Lafayette Swim Conference has arranged several alternatives for families to alleviate parking issues on nearby streets.
It is encouraging attendees to use UBER, ride bikes or carpool. As an additional measure, the LSC has secured a private shuttle service to transport swimmers from the Lafayette BART parking lot to Acalanes High School.
Organizers are also urging attendees to be courteous and respectful of the surrounding homes and neighbors.
