| | Photo Sora O'Doherty | | | | | | Orinda Garden Club celebrated 35 years as a floral designer in the annual Bouquets to Art exhibit at the San Francisco Museums of Fine Arts. During the week of June 4-9, members of the club displayed floral arrangements intended to mirror pieces in the collection at the de Young Museum in Golden Gate Park.
Phoebe Kahl and Diana Kennedy's arrangement included flax, bird of paradise, beehive ginger, pincushion protea, anthurium, leucadendron, and succulents. Mari Tischenko put her arrangement into a metal container of original design, displaying pincushion protea (Leucospermum) Allium schubertii (sprayed orange), Ocidium orchids, blue hydrangea, yellow calla lily, Amaranthus seed (emerald tassels), and green hypercium berries (St. John's wort). Gail Emmons, selected pink protea, pink flax leaves and copper wire for her arrangement. In addition, Orinda Resident Ricki Oleon did the flower arrangements in the ladies' rooms during the exhibition. |
