Created to give student filmmakers a place to celebrate their hard work with family, friends, and others who appreciate the art of filmmaking, the 7th Annual Bright Ideas Film Festival will once again be screening a showcase of short films, as well as a Q&A with the filmmakers, from 7 to 10 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Orinda Theatre. The festival showcases student films from colleges around the Bay Area. Trophies will be presented to the winners of several categories, including: Best in Festival, Audience Choice Award, Best Comedic Performance, and Best Dramatic Performance. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased online at the Orinda Theatre website
