Celebrate spring with the Diablo Women's Chorale's (DWC) presentation of 'A Lovely Way to Spend an Evening', a musical experience performed with live musicians, including the Stephen Evans Cello Choir with Joe Magdalena II.
Established in 1942, the DWC has been an East Bay musical legacy, thriving as a secular choir attracting women who share a passion for spreading joy through music.
Director Erin Fishler brings vast performance and teaching experience, including recording backing vocals on a track of the Grammy-nominated album, 'With Love' by Miami arranger Jeremy Fox.
DWC has many members from Lamorinda. Amy McLellan (Moraga), says, "DWC is a great way to feel connected to this?community, a vibrant celebration of local women finding joy, friendship, and empowerment through our love for music."
Vicki Elliot (Lafayette) offers, "Singing with dedicated people has been my pleasure since 2020 -- voices raised in harmony for the beauty and joy of it. Come support live music in your community-we'd love to see you!
Marjorie Singler (Lafayette) adds, "I have enjoyed fellowship with DWC. Our music is contemporary, bright, comforting, joyful, with emotion and feeling. I recommend buying a ticket to this uplifting, rejuvenating music.
Rebecca Andre (Orinda) says, "I began singing with DWC 15 years ago and enjoy it immensely. With many talented singers, we all excel through hard work, dedication, and guidance from our inspirational director. The best thing is the spirit of friendship, community, and supporting and encouraging one another."
Performances are Saturday, May 18 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, May 19 at 3 p.m. at Bortin Hall, Mt Diablo Unitarian Universalist Church, 55 Eckley Lane, Walnut Creek. Tickets are available at www.diablowomenschorale.org
