It’s a wrap on this year’s California Independent Film Festival, which drew crowds to Lamorinda Theatres Nov. 8-11. From an eclectic array of nominees the following films emerged as winners of the 15th Annual Slate Awards:
Best Picture Drama: “Lore”
Best Picture Comedy: “One Small Hitch”
Best Director: Cate Shortland – “Lore”
Best Actress: Saskia Rosendahl– “Lore”
Best Actor: Daniel Auteuil – “Well Digger’s Daughter”
Best Short: “Friend Request Pending”
Best Student Film: “Good Night”
Best Mini Short: “Only Child”
Best Documentary Feature: “Scarred Lands & Wounded Lives– The Environmental Footprint of War”
Best Documentary Short: “Mr. Christmas”
Best Cinematography: “Well Digger’s Daughter”
Best Music: “Well Digger’s Daughter”
Best Animation: “The Boy in the Bubble”
Best Screenplay: David Schroeder – “Halfway Home”
