Moraga Town Council Says Okay to Dollar Tree Store

Despite determined opposition from a large group of residents, the Moraga Town Council cleared the way for the opening of a Dollar Tree store at the Rheem Center in early 2011.
At it's meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 10, the Council rejected an appeal of the Planning Commission's approval of the Dollar Tree Store's application, but added a new condition limiting space on the sales floor for packaged food products to 10 percent. It rejected Council Member Dave Trotter's request to require the applicant to indemnify the Town should someone present a legal challenge.
