The Stanley Middle School Wildcats seventh grade girls' basketball team captured the league championship with a win over Piedmont Middle school on January 20 at Martinez Junior High. The Wildcats entered post-season play with a 7-2 record. The Wildcats split the series with championship opponents Piedmont Middle School. The championship game was a similar battle, but the Wildcats edged out a 24-22 victory. Kenny Souza earned the MVP award for the championship game while JulieAnne Martin was selected the tournament All-Around MVP.
The Wildcats defeated Piedmont B and Benicia to reach the championship game.
